We acquired the building, formally known as Crichton House, in May 2024 as a vacant, run-down office in the heart of Edinburgh's Royal Mile a tired building in an extraordinary location. We saw a flagship: the scale, the position and the character to become the fullest expression of how we invest and operate.
What we're doing
This is the whole of LSG in one building. We secured planning consent for a 21-room aparthotel with ground floor food and drink, were on site within months, and have taken the project through construction to completion in July 2026 acquisition, planning, development and build, all led in-house. From 1 August 2026 we operate it ourselves, under Stay Hush, with Mile Yard and Pocca at street level, complementing and enhancing our guest experience and offering.
The vision
Stay Hush Royal Mile brings together everything we do best: a transformed landmark, premium rooms, and a destination food and drink offer, all under one roof and one standard. It is the flagship of the Stay Hush brand and the clearest measure of our capability, from a tired and underutilised building to a living asset and destination in just over two years.
